Jepoi sent me a link that was somehow interesting... About Desperate Housewives and our Med Schools here in the Philippines...

I'm not a big fan of Desperate Housewives, nor hate it... But listening and seeing the clip, made me hate it... Todo na ito...

Short INTRO

Susan Mayer Delfino, played by Teri Hatcher, was talking with her OB-Gyne in the scene. Her doctor told her that she might be hitting menopause (with her saying that she's too young for that).

Here's what she said: "Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Coz I would just like to make sure they are not from some med school in the Philippines."

but it's commonly known as slang by now. what she said, though a simple attempt to make witty political banter, is derogatory in nature and in its passiveness promotes public acceptance of the uninformed negative stereotyping of our people professionally...
...*comes to senses* woah, where was i for a second there? i blacked out

I find this funny! :-D Many of our local television shows do the same.
We can tolerate making fun/bashing others but we get affected when they bash us? Tit for tat ladies and gentlemen. Accept it! Witty political banter is still bashing. Good enough for me.
If you are against the comment in the video and would commit a similar act in front of me... well then... you will get a taste of my pimp hand!! ;-)
